Policy on timesheets
Effective: 1/9/06
Policy
To receive payment for time worked, hourly employees (but not exception hourly) are required to complete a timesheet on a bi-weekly basis to document actual time worked each pay period.
Guidelines
Timesheets are for recording in and out times, time worked each day, and total hours worked (rounded to the nearest quarter of an hour). Timesheets for CBS are located here.
To complete a timesheet:
- Go the to CBS website and print the timesheet for the appropriate 2-week period in which you worked.
- Complete the timesheet by entering the time you started work and the time you ended work, rounding to the nearest quarter of an hour.
For example, if you start work at 8:05 am, document your “in” time as 8:00 am. If you start at 8:10 am, document your “in” time as 8:15 am. The same applies to ending times. For example, if you end your work at 4:07 pm, you should enter 4:00 pm. If you end your time at 4:08 pm, enter 4:15 pm.
- Sign your timesheet and submit it to your supervisor by the appropriate deadline.
- Supervisors forward approved timesheets to their appropriate payroll person for data entry.
